Hello Francesco,
It seems to me that the console that you're using doesn't know UTF-8 (it
has LANG=C and LC_TYPE=C).
I suspect this is the reason of your problems. Could you try to generate
a en_US.UTF-8 locale and use that locale instead of C, see if your bug
reproduces?
I tried on my machine which is UTF-8 enabled and had no issues.
