Package: login Version: 1:4.0.18.1-7 Severity: normal
starting some tasks (eg: top - see Debian Bug #416976) in an xterm after using su can lead to undesirable behavior if the xterm is closed. After a little testing, it seems that the child process never gets the SIGHUP which it normally gets when su is not used (or it is used and logged out of) and then the xterm is closed xterm Version: 222-1etch2 -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-5-686 Locale: LANG=en_NZ, LC_CTYPE=en_NZ (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages login depends on: ii libc6 2.6.1-1+b1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libpam-modules 0.79-5 Pluggable Authentication Modules f ii libpam-runtime 0.79-5 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 0.79-5 Pluggable Authentication Modules l login recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
