You should be able to deduce from the log files in /var/log/debian-installer which driver was used during installation and from the regular log files in /var/log which was used after reboot. You may want to enable bootlogd in /etc/default, to get all console messages that are printed to console during boot in /var/log/bootlog. Please let us know the results of that.
