I also encountered the same problem and suffered a long time.
and I test using iceweasel-2.0.0.12-0etch1 .
iceweasel-l10n-ja and enable the state to install almost 100%
reproducibility problems,
iceweasel-l10n-ja disabled by the state Tab Mix Plus's prefenreces
window is also operating normally.
0. (use fresh user)
1. start iceweasel 2.0.0.12-0etch1 with iceweasel-l10n-ja.
2. install tab mix plus 0.3.6 and restart iceweasel.
3. its ok to use whichever build-in session restore
or the TabMix Session Manager.
4. [Tools] in menubar -> Tab Mix Plus Options
5. Tab Mix Plus Options window is zero sized and blank.
6. quit iceweasel.
7. start iceweasel and disabling iceweasel-l10n-ja.
8. quit iceweasel.
9. start iceweasel (not removing ~/.mozilla)
10. [Tools] in menubar -> Tab Mix Plus Options
11. Tab Mix Plus Options window opens normally.
It is the following case to be troubled most.
* use Tab Mix Plus's sesssion maneger
* in Tab Mix Plus preferences window
[Session] > [Start/Exit] > [When Browser Starts]
choose [Ask Before Restoring]
1. after iceweasel crashed.
2. start iceweasel. but the session choice window is abnormal.
3. can not start iceweasel > kill iceweasel > start safe mode...
