H. Peter Anvin (the upstream maintainer) accepted my patch and it is included in syslinux-3.62
I've made a CD based on debian-testing-i386-kde-CD-1.iso dated 2008-03-03 but with the isolinux replaced by the one from syslinux-3.62.
