reassign 375366 libglib2.0-0
thanks

Hello, I've tracked this error down.

I've build the version which works for you (4.6.1-2) against recent glib
and libc6 and libslang2-dev version.. and this behaviour indeed stopped
working.

Since the libslang2 library hasn't changed between the builds ( both using
version 2.0.1-1). this bug must be related somehow to a change in one of
the following libraries:

 - libc6 (version change from: 2.3.5-1 to: 2.3.6-6)
 - libglib2.0-0 (version change from: 2.8.5 to: 2.10.0)

I think this bug is related to a ABI change of libglib2.0-0, since mc uses
this lib heavily.
Therefore I reassign this bug to libglib2.0-0 as this bug is very clearly
not related to any change in mc or libslang2.
Since this behaviour change is still present in the newest libglib2.0-0 I
think it is worth to have a look on this bug.

Greetings
Winnie
