Thanks for your quick reply. Patch works for me, but what about the other LC_* vars not yet mentionend in the script? I really don't know much about locales and it seems unlikely that they'll be set, but it is after all possible. Somehow, while trying the patch I stumbled over another issue with slim (Xorg crashes when I tried the special username 'console'), but this does not belong here and I will investigate further before I open a separate bugreport.
