So you should reassign that bug instead of closing it imediatelly.

I'm not asking to totally abandon the way it is handled now, but as
a another possibility.

You won't convince me that moving some IP from one machine to another
wouldn't be easier with splitted interfaces.

And such operation is quite usual at least in environment I have to work
in.
