Subject: poedit: [UPSTREAM]No way to restore "no font selected" Package: poedit Version: 1.3.1-1 Severity: important
Hello, I have found yet another bug in poedit, or so I think. When the program is installed "by default", it takes the font to be used from an unknown place (to the common user, at least). While this font displays correctly for Romanian, I wanted a fixed font to be used instead of the default. That proved to be a mistake, because, once the font has been selected for usage once, it will be used even if we uncheck the option use a personalized font in the text field. Reproducing the bug: Open a default install of poedit with a po file that is non 8859-1; Select another font and check the option regarding personalized font for text field. Accept the font change. Now some of the diacritics should be messed up (or not). Go again to the same option and uncheck it. Click OK. Now the font will not be changed back to the default one; the font identifier was written in a file in ~/.poedit/config and there is no way (within the poedit application) to erase that record, while, as long as it is present, poedit will try to use that font selected at step 2. As I see it, when unchecking that option, poedit should start using the initial font rather the on selcted at some point (this way providing a readable, at least, font no matter the encoding.. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.9-sleep-pbg4 Locale: LANG=ro_RO.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ro_RO.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages poedit depends on: ii gettext 0.14.1-10 GNU Internationalization utilities ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-21 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdb3 3.2.9-22 Berkeley v3 Database Libraries [ru ii libgcc1 1:3.4.3-12 GCC support library ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.5-12 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libwxgtk2.4 2.4.2.6.1 wxWindows Cross-platform C++ GUI t -- no debconf information -- Regards, EddyP
