I am calling gdebi from "game-package" to install a .deb which we have generated into a temp file created with mktemp. I have a random suffix (.XXXXXX => random numbers by mktemp) for safety. gdebi won't accept it because it is is not suffixed with .deb. I can work around this fairly easily, but gdebi should really not care about the file extension (and use something more robust to guess the contents if it needs to) [ also, the error msg is lacking a \n ] -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gdebi depends on: ii gdebi-core 0.3.5debian1 Simple tool to install deb files ii gksu 2.0.0-5 graphical frontend to su ii gnome-icon-theme 2.22.0-1 GNOME Desktop icon theme ii python 2.4.4-6 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-central 0.6.1 register and build utility for Pyt ii python-glade2 2.12.1-1 GTK+ bindings: Glade support ii python-gtk2 2.12.1-1 Python bindings for the GTK+ widge ii python-vte 1:0.16.13-1 Python bindings for the VTE widget Versions of packages gdebi recommends: ii libgnome2-perl 1.042-1 Perl interface to the GNOME librar -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
