Package: apt-listchanges Version: 2.82 Severity: normal I noticed that apt-listchanges stopped showing changelogs a while ago and saw that the following line was printed: database /var/lib/apt/listchanges.db failed to load.
I tried to reinstall apt-listchanges but to no effect. I searched the
provided information in /usr/share/doc/apt-listchanges and in the man
page, but no information was shown either.
I have no idea why the db fails to load (there was nothing suspicion I
noticed of, i.e. file system errors or crashes) and I "only" track
testing (ie. no strange repositories), although highly infrequently.
There is also still 1.3 GB left free in /var, so no out of disc
condition either.
Next I copied the db to some place and purged apt-listchanges.
After reinstalling I tried to upgrade po-debconf (as an example).

So I am not sure if apt-listchanges works again.
I will not do any further upgrades in the next days and will keep the db file
around,
so if you want to debug this I can do the steps you suggest. Otherwise
please document how to properly recover from this situation.
