The INSTALL file for keepassx has this in it: You have to use qmake of Qt >= 4.3.0, depending on your distro it is called qmake or qmake-qt4. However, debian/control simply has a Build-Depend on libqt4-dev. That means that you can try to build on Etch, but the Qt version is not sufficient. The Build-Depends should be changed to "libqt4-dev (>= 4.3.0)".
