Just to add that this bug lead to this error in hte upgrade process :
Setting up postgresql-doc-7.4 (7.4.8-1) ... cannot create dhelp file '/usr/share/doc/postgresql-doc-7.4/html/.dhelp': No such file or directory dpkg: error processing postgresql-doc-7.4 (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2 It may be of some use to people looking for the why the install breaks ...
