thanks for the code. I tried to reproduce the problem like this:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp% g77-2.95 -fbounds-check mkimage.f && ./a.out
Transfer tables have 0. resolution,
but mkimage program can handle only 0.03125
-- change Parameter DHappMin in mkimage.f, or
increase spacing in transfer tables.

So it works for me... this is g77 2.95.4-22 on an Alpha, an Athlon XP,
and a Pentium II system. Maybe it's some local installation problem
on your Pentium 3 machine? Can you still reproduce this on any other
machine?
