is your /usr/bin/screen setuid root? This is mandatory if you want to use the multiuser feature. Have a look at /usr/share/doc/screen/README.Debian. Note that adding a dpkg-statoverride doesn't actually change the file's permissions (unless you add '--update'). Regards, Jan
