The point is: - We need these deps for smooth upgrade paths of most users Possible solutions in my eyes: - Build the kernel with make-kpkg.. then it is easily possible to use m-a - Build the vbox module with make && make install A mixture between dpkg build kernel /modules and home build kernel / modules is in my eyes not supported.
