This either means that the problem is fixed in 2.6.25, or that it is caused by some Debian patch. The way I see it, there are two ways to make sure. One way to make sure would be to compile a vanilla 2.6.24 and to see if the problem *does* occur with that kernel. The other would be to wait until real Debian 2.6.25 packages are released.

Either way, this means it really isn't a laptop-mode-tools issue. I will reassign this to the linux kernel package, but I will keep monitoring the issue because it does matter to me of course!
