The problem that remount takes forever seems to be gone.
At least, I couldn't reproduce it using the usual method of rebooting at
7.20am, waiting for the cron jobs to start, and (at 7.35), doing the
remount by hand.
This either means that the problem is fixed in 2.6.25, or that it is
caused by some Debian patch. The way I see it, there are two ways to
make sure. One way to make sure would be to compile a vanilla 2.6.24 and
to see if the problem *does* occur with that kernel. The other would be
to wait until real Debian 2.6.25 packages are released.
Either way, this means it really isn't a laptop-mode-tools issue. I will
reassign this to the linux kernel package, but I will keep monitoring
the issue because it does matter to me of course!
Cheers,
Bart
