Package: minicom
Version: 2.3-1
Severity: normal

Trying to use aptitude in a minicom session in a gnome-terminal windows with
screen running doesn't work. aptitude's boxes (e.g. search box) display
strange characters and periods instead of the line drawing characters. The
same setup with picocom works so it is something to do with minicom. I suspect
that minicom is translating characters but fails to translate utf8 characters
outside the 7-bit ASCII range correctly.
