Yes, this would allow for the usage pattern I'm interested in.
I still hope that there'd be a way to specify the default for
`-p' via an environment variable, though it's an upstream issue.
PS. It may make sense to retitle the bug prior to closing it, so that
the Debian changelog will be in better accordance with it.
