On a lark, I decided to downgrade xpdf-utils from its current version
to stable, and now all PDF files print correctly.
I want to emphasize that the upgrade to the 1.3.7-5 package of CUPS
is when printing stopped working correctly, not the original upgrade
to the latest xpdf-utils. It's impossible for me to tell if this bug
lies with cupsys or xpdf-utils.
