Package: powersaved Version: 0.15.20-2 Severity: normal Hi,
it seems that there is no support in powersaved for LCD events. I'm using a Thinkpad T61 with integrated graphics. On linux 2.6.25 with thinkpad-acpi 0.19-20080321. When pressing Fn+Home/End (which are brightness keys on T61) logs are as following: Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo acpid: received event "video LCD0 00000086 00000000" Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo acpid: notifying client 24080[101:104] Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo acpid: notifying client 28807[0:0] Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo acpid: notifying client 29578[0:0] Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:143) Could not read from hwEvent fd 5: Resource temporarily unavailable Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:158) ACPI Event: 'video LCD0 00000086 00000000' Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: Debug (handleHWEventRequest:170) type: video, dev_name: LCD0, port: 00000086, count: 00000000 Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: DIAG (handleHWEventRequest:241) unknown HW event, using [other]. type 'video' dev_name 'LCD0' port '00000086' count '00000000' Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: Info (registerEvent:48) registering event no.'7' Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: Info (executeInternalAction:264) Executing internal action: ignore Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: Info (continueEvent:240) Internal action ignore executed Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: Info (checkScriptReturn:168) SCRIPT returned: Name: 'ignore', Return value: 0, Comment: 'internal action successfull: ignore' Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo powersaved[29578]: Info (checkScriptReturn:187) SCRIPT Event other finished successfully Apr 29 20:20:37 hidalgo acpid: completed event "video LCD0 00000086 00000000" The “ignore” part seems to mean that it's not what powersaved expects. powersave -k works fine.
