Snowflake does not have a GNOME menu entry because it does not have a 
..desktop file under /usr/share/applications.  The attached file placed 
under that directory will give you a GNOME HIG-compliant menu entry as 
well as providing menu entries for other freedesktop.org compliant 
window managers.

This is not the same as the Debian menu file/entry, which is basically 
unused in GNOME (ubuntu doesn't even include it by default, and even in 
debian, when using GNOME one only goes to the debian menu if one can't 
find a program where it is supposed to be).
