Can you make your large tiff file publicly available?
Of course, since it's 123 mb large, I have lzma compressed it (about 30 mb): http://krum.ethz.ch/eth-hoenggerberg-gardenside.tif.lzma
Do you see any errors from feh? This could possibly be a bug in imlib2, but it's too early to tell.
No it's just not displayed, I get a black/transparent picture shown.
Any additional information you can provide (error messages, return code, etc) would be much appreciated.
