This is because we're currently in a transition, i.e. we're moving the whole archive to perl 5.10. But I think what Andreas was refering to is the message v-string in use/require non-portable at /usr/bin/findimagedupes line 25. that comes from a recompiled version. It seems to work as advertised but always brings up this message.
