Package: tsocks Version: 1.8beta5-9 Severity: important Tags: patch The attached dpatch enables libtsocks to read the TSOCKS_SERVER and TSOCKS_SERVER_PORT environment variables, and adds command-line arguments --server and --server-port to /usr/bin/tsocks.
Motivation: users can only configure tsocks via configuration files. This is
too inflexible. Sometimes multiple SOCKS servers are available (e.g. from ssh
-D sessions) and I need to decide on the fly which server to use when
socksify-ing a command (using tsocks). Creating multiple configuration files
was the only (ugly) work-around.
(Note: I created this patch on an Ubuntu system, but against the latest tsocks
source package obtained from Debian.)
