Hi all, I got bored of waiting for Petter to add the OpenSSL exception to chntpw, so I've written the attached patch to port chntpw to libgcrypt. I've based it on chntpw 0.99.5 070923 since I couldn't find a git, svn, or cvs repository for it. I tested it with a Vista SAM and there was no difference between the files produced by the OpenSSL version and the libgcrypt version. The only difference now would be that libgcrypt in Debian doesn't offer a static library, so a static version of chntpw is not possible in Debian.
I place this patch in the public domain. Petter: please add this patch upstream and or add the OpenSSL exception so that free distributions can let their users benefit from chntpw. Javier: please add this patch to the Debian package and move chntpw to main so that Debian's users can benefit from chntpw. If you don't have time to do so, I'm happy to do an NMU. -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
