Hm, sorry, still not able to reproduce here with Miro 1.2.3-1. I also started kinput2-canna in an xterm, then miro in another xterm, same effect, I can press any buttons or SHIFT keys I like, no hangs, no crashes. Do you have any strange daemons or configs running which may cause this? Have you tried 'mv .miro .miro.bak' and then start miro "from scratch", i.e. without any pre-existing configs/files? Does that help? Do you have a similar problem with other X11 applications?
