As boost 1.35 has come out, it might be worthy for xmms2 to migrate to
it. The upcoming ffmpeg transition might be a chance, though boost1.35
itself is suffering from FTBFS on various archs ATM :P
A patch to debian/control is attached and has been tested on i386.
