I understand the problem now.

The current logic (that you, Martin Krafft and I agreed on in #461859)
basically says that if you want to save one page, use "current", for a
selection of pages, use "selected", and all is obvious. You are using
"Selected" to save one page.

It is worth reiterating the logic:

If no pages are selected, default to All.
If 1 page is selected default to the most recent from All or Current.
If more than one page is selected, default to Selected.

If you select more than one page, all open dialogs will change to
Selected, and on only selecting one, back to either All or Current, as
above.

I'm wondering if it might not be clearer if I scrapped "Current", and
made the logic:

If no pages are selected, default to All.
Otherwise default to the most recent from All or Selected.
