Package: sndfile-programs
Version: 1.0.17-4
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/sndfile-info
Hi,
sndfile-info returns bad positive results.
e.g.
eve:[~/Videos]% file stream.dump
stream.dump: data
eve:[~/Videos]% sndfile-info stream.dump

==========================================================================
Opening audio decoder: [mp3lib] MPEG layer-2, layer-3
AUDIO: 48000 Hz, 2 ch, s16le, 128.0 kbit/8.33% (ratio: 16000->192000)
Selected audio codec: [mp3] afm: mp3lib (mp3lib MPEG layer-2, layer-3)

Obviously:
- if the format if supported, then why can it not determine the
format (especially since mplayer has no issues with it)
- I think there is a library error here -- when sweep attempts
to open a file it gets conflicting information and crashes and
burns (i.e. exits without any warning -- that is a seperate bug
though)
Erik, let me know if you need the file (48Mb) or just a segment of it
and I'll send it to you out-of-band.
Cheers,
Anand
