xscreensaver freezes if I leave it on too long. When I come back from my lunchbreak, moving the mouse or pressing a key does not bring up the unlock functionality. Nothing responds. When I then jump to a console (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and try to deactivate, restart or stop xscreensaver alltogether using xscreensaver-command then my Gnome display still remains dead. Sometimes issuing "/etc/init.d/gdm restart" will allow me to log in again, but sometimes even that does not work anymore and I need to issue a "reboot" to get my system in working order again. Since this happens only on longer breaks I take, I am guessing that it has something to do with power management.
