Hello, I'm trying to switch from lilo to grub on my macbook. As per [1], I made sure the gpt/mbr table are in sync: kinder:/etc# gptsync /dev/sda Current GPT partition table: # Start LBA End LBA Type 1 40 409639 EFI System (FAT) 2 409640 88490023 Mac OS X HFS+ 3 88752168 176832551 EFI System (FAT) 4 176832552 234441607 Basic Data Current MBR partition table: # A Start LBA End LBA Type 1 1 409639 ee EFI Protective 2 409640 88490023 af Mac OS X HFS+ 3 * 88752168 176832551 ef EFI System (FAT) 4 176832552 234441607 0b FAT32 Status: Tables are synchronized, no need to sync. Anyway grub-install fails to read /boot/grub/stage1 kinder:~# grub-install "(hd0)" Searching for GRUB installation directory ... found: /boot/grub The file /boot/grub/stage1 not read correctly. Using find in the grub shell does not work either: grub> find stage1 Error 15: File not found grub> find /boot/grub/stage1 Error 15: File not found grub> [1] http://wiki.debian.org/MacBook#head-65f7d7e28fb2e49e743d0de9516b6a7733718eb4 -- Package-specific info: *********************** BEGIN /boot/grub/device.map (hd0) /dev/sda *********************** END /boot/grub/device.map *********************** BEGIN /proc/mounts /dev/root / ext3 rw,errors=remount-ro,data=ordered 0 0 /dev/root /dev/.static/dev ext3 rw,errors=remount-ro,data=ordered 0 0 /dev/sda2 /mnt/mac hfsplus ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,umask=22,uid=0,gid=0,nls=utf8 0 0 /dev/sda4 /mnt/win vfat rw,nosuid,nodev,noexec,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0 *********************** END /proc/mounts -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_BE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_BE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages grub depends on: ii grub-common 1.96+20080512-1 GRand Unified Bootloader, version grub recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
