Hi! The fix is committed in upstream: http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/meld/trunk/vc/mercurial.py?r1=927&r2=949
Unfortunately upstream does not plan a new release in the near future so i think it 'd be useful to include it in the Debian package because meld is practically unusable with mercurial without the patch.
