It's another bug. It definitely should be fixed, but it revealed a
problem in your installation. This error message likely means that
file "/var/cache/yaws/.yaws/yaws/debian_yaws/CTL" in your system was
existing and empty. It's an unusual situation, so prerm script will
fail even after fixing the bug (though with more clear error message).

How did you manage to have an empty YAWS control file?
