I was able to reproduce it after a demi-dozen of successful launches. A similar problem was reported against deluge-torrent [0] (I was also able to reproduce the issue with this package at the 2nd launch). This problem does only happen with python 2.5, eg, 'python2.4 /usr/lib/listen/listen.py' works ok python-gtk2 seems to be the cause to this problem, as downgrading this package to 2.12.1-1 does fix both issues (this version is easily available in lenny, I haven't tested other versions which would need to be built or grabbed from snapshots.d.o). Bug #482588 [1] may be related. I thus reassign this bug to python-gtk2 (maintainers, feel free to reassign it if I am wrong).
