Package: netbase Severity: normal Debian Policy Manual states that 'Depends' declares an absolute dependency. This is not the case with ifupdown as it works fine without it. Thus, I propose to loosen it to 'Recommends'.
Furthermore, the absolute dependency enforces an indirect one on net-tools. I could happily live without net-tools, as I use iproute2 exclusively, but many programs require /etc/services and /etc/protocols to exist. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (500, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages netbase depends on: pn ifupdown <none> (no description available) ii lsb-base 3.2-11 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip netbase recommends no packages. -- Piotr Lewandowski -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
