The patch works for me. Unpatched sources exhibit the bug, patched does not. Tested with iso-8859-2 encoded file and iso-8859-2 locale. BTW the charset switching in the viewer [after applying tty.diff patch] works correctly here. I tested 'no-translation', 'iso-8859-2', 'windows 1250' and 'cp 852' and it converts the viewed file correctly in all cases.
