This is the answer from stu: It mostlly depends on if 3.1 makes it to release in time. I've done some work on packaging 3.0, but it's set p to static link to a load of shipped libraries, which end up a right rat's nest to unpick. TBH I''m considering passing over the 3.1 work I've done to a new maintainer if you or anyone you know might want to take it on. As it stands I don't have the time I need to commit to this package.
