Package: bluez-utils Version: 3.30-3 Severity: normal I have a USB bluetooth adaptor; lsusb gives:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0a5c:2121 Broadcom Corp. BCM2210 Bluetooth When I plug it into a running system, the device (hciX) is not created; I merely get this in syslog: Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: hub 5-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 1 Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: Bluetooth: Core ver 2.11 Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: NET: Registered protocol family 31 Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: Bluetooth: HCI USB driver ver 2.9 Jun 5 19:40:00 lizzie kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver hci_usb Restarting bluetooth with /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart causes the device to be created, but the device still doesn't accept an incoming ppp connection request. Following some reports I saw online, I discovered that doing something like 'pkill /usr/bin/dund' and then manually restarting the dund process (with the correct options) fixes the problem. This can be automated by '/etc/init.d/bluetooth stop && /etc/init.d/bluetooth start', but simply doing '/etc/init.d/bluetooth restart' does not work, as above. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25-lizzie Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages bluez-utils depends on: ii dbus 1.2.1-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libbluetooth2 3.30-1 Library to use the BlueZ Linux Blu ii libc6 2.7-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.1-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.3-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-11 userspace USB programming library ii lsb-base 3.2-12 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii makedev 2.3.1-88 creates device files in /dev ii module-init-tools 3.4-1 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii udev 0.114-2 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo Versions of packages bluez-utils recommends: ii bluez-audio 3.30-3 Bluetooth audio support -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
