Hi, I'm using GDM and I have the same bug so I don't think that KDE is the source of the problem.
I also have the same problem with usplash, I don't know if splashy is based on usplash or written from scratch. If it is based on usplash, maybe it is an inherited bug and, if it is written from scratch, the bug might come from another package (libdirectfb ?)
