  I spotted that, but applied the patch anyway to the Debian package
 and upstream repository. 

  The code in question  is only used to generate a test case, and it
 has no functional bearing on the package.  Better to fix the bashism,
 and have a slightly less friendly generated tests/modules.t file than 
 suffer future bug reports!
