Package: munin-node
Version: 1.2.6-1
Severity: wishlist

Hello!

It would be very useful, if the if_ plugin could support venet* devices
out of the box. Packet counters work the usual way on venet devices, so
only the suggest-action would need an update to add "venet" to the regex.

venet* devices are used by OpenVZ, the container-based virtualization
stuff for linux, which is now also included in the lenny kernel
packages. OpenVZ also has lots of upstream commits and the hope is, that
OpenVZ may well become the standard for container-based virtualization
on Linux.
We're already using it a lot at work, and successfully use the etch
version of munin-node on those hosts, and auto-detection of the venet
devices would really save some time :-)

Thanks,
Christian
