Package: munin-node Version: 1.2.6-1 Severity: wishlist Hello!
It would be very useful, if the if_ plugin could support venet* devices out of the box. Packet counters work the usual way on venet devices, so only the suggest-action would need an update to add "venet" to the regex. venet* devices are used by OpenVZ, the container-based virtualization stuff for linux, which is now also included in the lenny kernel packages. OpenVZ also has lots of upstream commits and the hope is, that OpenVZ may well become the standard for container-based virtualization on Linux. We're already using it a lot at work, and successfully use the etch version of munin-node on those hosts, and auto-detection of the venet devices would really save some time :-) Thanks, Christian -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.25.10-pooch (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages munin-node depends on: ii adduser 3.108 add and remove users and groups ii libnet-server-perl 0.97-1 An extensible, general perl server ii lsb-base 3.2-12 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii perl 5.10.0-11 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii procps 1:3.2.7-8 /proc file system utilities Versions of packages munin-node recommends: pn libnet-snmp-perl <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
