Package: motion Version: 3.2.9-1ubuntu1 Two problems:
s-s-d is not writing the pidfile, rather motion is. However new motion packages run as user "motion", so can't write to /v/run as specified by "process_id_file /var/run/motion.pid". /v/r/motion is already created and set to motion:motion, however the pid location needs to be updated for consistency. == is a bash regex operator, = should be used for string comparison, or -eq for numeric.
