currently, mylvmbackup insists on doing the backup itself. This is often not intended in the case of small databases which are not the main objective of the server. In these cases, the MySQL databases are located on the same LV than the rest of /var, and thus rsyncing the entire file system to a different place might not be what people want. I'd like mylvmbackup to just create the LVM snapshot and then to terminate, leaving the actual backup process to me (which could be part of a complete system backup, with /var excluded and the Snapshot being backed up instead).
