Well, it's hard to say, really. The s5 package provides the stock S5 distribution which contains an introduction, a description of what S5 can do, and some sample styles (the python-docutils package calls those "themes"). This package, including the s5 command-line tool, should be all one needs - if one is not afraid of writing a couple of tags and learning the basics of XHTML :) As far as I can see, the S5 files in python-docutils are just one of the output methods for the restructured text converters. This is a great opportunity for people who are used to ReST, and I like it that this gives S5 even more visibility in the world :) The python-docutils package also seems to include several nice S5 styles. Still, I think that I am not alone in actually *liking* the ability to write my own (X)HTML within the slides, and doing it with nothing more than a text editor :) Please do not misunderstand me here - I really like the idea of ReST, the multiple output formats and stuff, but for my personal needs, a plain HTML file is quite enough. Add to this the ability to modify the presentation on-the-fly, without the need to regenerate it or anything, and you may see why I like *also* having S5 as a package on its own in the archive. Still, there's a next version of the s5 package in the works, which will be able to read a config file with default values for some settings, like the default theme to use. In that version, I'll mention the python-docutils package in the README.Debian file; I don't really feel like adding the whole of it to Recomments or Suggests :/ Also, you'll be able to point at one of python-docutils's writers/s5_html/themes/ subdirs as a default theme, and s5 will happily use it. Do you think this will be enough? Thanks for the comments on the s5 package, and sorry for the somewhat longish reply :) G'luck, Peter -- Peter Pentchev [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP key: http://people.FreeBSD.org/~roam/roam.key.asc Key fingerprint FDBA FD79 C26F 3C51 C95E DF9E ED18 B68D 1619 4553 If wishes were fishes, the antecedent of this conditional would be true.
