Hi Maximilian, i cannot reproduce your problem, neither for the version you reported (0.6.21 in a sarge chroot), nor for the current.
What I get instead is a warning in the log "W: Unable to stat ..." which seems quite ok. My guess is that this was fixed by some third party update (python or apt-ftparchive). Could you please re-test (and eventually close) this?
