I don't think this is a good idea. For systems running (old)stable, the Contents lists hardly change over the lifetime of the system. Downloading them every day for every system that has apt-file installed seems very wasteful. I would compare 'apt-file update' to 'apt-get update' which is something that is ran at moments that the administrator seems fit, not automatically daily.
