One more strange thing that is a regression, if I remember correctly. That's why I am following up on the same bug, even if the symptoms are very different.
While evince displays correctly the file at <http://fly.isti.cnr.it/riservato/debian-bug/ja2410-fig10.eps>, it cannot display (any more) the file at <http://fly.isti.cnr.it/riservato/debian-bug/ja2410-fig10+p.eps>, which is the same as the previous file but with a tiff preview added: evince just load the latter and shows a Loading... sign, without any errors.
