$ dpkg -l  "nfs-common"
ii nfs-common 1:1.1.2-5 NFS support files common to client and server

$ uname -a
Linux mordor 2.6.25-2-s390x #1 SMP Tue Jul 1 15:00:07 UTC 2008 s390x GNU/Linux
[[[ s390x is the 64-bit variant for s390 ]]]

$ mount -t nfs4
elrond.fjphome.nl:/project on /srv/project type nfs4
(rw,hard,intr,addr=10.19.66.2)

So, yes it works again. I'll leave it to you to close the bug properly.
Or, if you'd like to do more investigation into the actual cause, then
feel free to ask.

Thanks Steinar!
