The affected package is klaptopdaemon. Since lenny will ship with KDE 3.5.9, you cannot expect any changes in the internals of this package anymore. KDE 4 is fixed, I think.
The deprecation window from 2.6.24 to 2.6.25 is much too short for these sort of things. Unless the kernel option breaks major other things, I strongly suggest you turn it back on.
